This week Yahoo Health featured an interview with Andy Glickman, a meditation teacher who is using mindfulness meditation for dating. The article discusses how Glickman is incorporating imagery and meditation to make better, more authentic connections, become a better date, and eventually a better partner. Meditation offers benefits not just for meditators, but also for the people with whom meditators interact—family, friends, co-workers, and even the people they date.
Glickman said that his love life had become a “string of superficial and physical relations with no connection on an emotional level.” So he decided to apply his meditation expertise to the dating scene. He was surprised by what he found. “I became aware of my vibe,” Glickman told Yahoo Health, “I quickly realized that if I wanted to be successful at connecting with others, I had to radiate [that].”
One of Glickman’s resolutions for the new year was to meet people in real life, without relying on dating sites and apps. He is focused on resolving his own insecurities and becoming more genuine and open. In making these changes, he has noticed that he’s becoming more thoughtful, confident, and “organically bold… without even trying.” In essence he is now both attracting better companions and becoming a better companion himself.
Andy Glickman’s experience is not unique. Imagery and meditation for dating can help anyone find a fulfilling and satisfying relationship. Check out some of these selections to help find your soulmate:
